Winter Solstice Greetings from Gyppo

Winter Solstice Greetings

Today is the shortest day of the year here in the Northern Hemisphere. There will be only 8 hours and 14 seconds of daylight between sunrise and sunset… So it’s not just you, the day really will be shorter.

The good news is that from now onwards the days will start getting longer again. It may not be particularly noticeable at first, but it will be happening.

So light a candle if you want, or write down a little list of your plans and hopes for the forthcoming year. Or just ignore any little rituals. It’s your choice,

But grab yourself a few moments of peace before the insanity of Christmas grabs you by the throat and shakes you like a terrier with a rat.

Wishing you personal peace, whatever chaos may be happening around you.

“Blessed be.”

Great advice, Gyppo.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and all here on the tangled branch

Cheers, Colm.

I’ve stuck one of my Christmas stories up in the prose section for anyone who wants a slightly dark smile
