OK I’m going to try to figger this thing out and here is my first try. If this actually posts, I might do something really out there next.
Indar,
You are not alone, it took me several attempts and messed up postings to get to grips with it. Change is always confusing and unwelcome at first.
But we can read your message, so you’ve already got your foot in the door
Gyppo
Thanks, Gyppo, I’ll try to be patient with myself.
Sometimes the hardest won patience of all, isn’t it?. It’s easier to be tolerant of others than of our own temporary inabilities and confusions.
We know we’re not stupid.
So happy you got in, Linda. Please reach out with any headaches. I’m glad to help.
Linda, so pleased you are in the door. It all gets easier from here. The site outline/index runs down the left side; rather than top down like at the old site. Marc can do a screen-share tour if you’d like. I can too, but not as good🍄🟫
Hi Linda - you made it too! Good to see you here. You will adapt to this site, trust me, it’s a good layout compared to some poetry sites out there. The only thing I’m still finding counter-intuitive is the stacking order of comments and scrolling up to view a topic but it’s easy enough generally.
Mark, and anyone else who doesn’t know this yet. You don’t have to scroll up, which can become a pain if there’s a lot of comments.
Just hit the [Home] key and it will pop you straight to the top of that particular thread.
Most of the time, Gyyppo, but there are those times that leave me feeling really stupid.
Thanks Marc. I have since tried to post a poem–several times with varying outcomes but none successful. I will take you up on your offer to walk me through it.
Thanks, Tracy you knew I couldn’t last forever without finally squeaking in some place–now for a grand entrance to the main event!
Thanks Mark, Adapt huh? I hope it won’t take too many years.
Yes! I can’t wait to read your introduction. Yay Linda:hugs:
It’s worth the effort, Indar. And we miss you
Once you jump in the water’s fine.
I made a right balls up of posting a few things in the prose section to start with. Felt like a bull in a china shop and extensively exercised my ‘alternative vocabulary’.
Deleted quite a bit and tried again after I calmed down.
Hi Linda! Glad you made it
Hi Linda!
I’m just getting my sea legs and my “See” legs. Great to see you here. Thank you for pointing me in this direction.
I feel like I need to hurry back to the other place and retrieve my old posts. I should be sleeping. Getting new hearing aids in less than 7 hours.
Yes we should probably go back and go through all those NaPo poem-a-day and Fives. posts… I lost so much stuff when MWC shut down and I’m certain it was brilliant writing I am waiting for the insurance company to authorize a trip to the audiologist. Shoud have done that a lot sooner. So glad you are on TTB 2.0 —I’m still getting used to it. Are you on fire watch? Horrible images from Malibu on the evening news. And no one can say they don’t “keep their forest floors clean” in Malibu.
Deb-- The Tangled Branch Classic will remain up for folks to retrieve whatever they’d like at their leisure. There are no current plans to turn out the lights over there and will never be without lengthy notice to participants.
