Many years ago I wrote a solitary classic 5,7,5 haiku to answer a challenge. I’ve kept it stored on my computer so I never have to do it again

I can’t abide haiku
they make me claustrophobic
I won’t write the sods

Funny, I like it.
I love it, because I have never been able to write haiku … the ones I’ve tried to do are terrible. So I can’t help but love this one, just right.
I rose to the challenge - once - but honestly have no temptation to do it again.
I’ve read and enjoyed some wonderful haiku, but my brain isn’t wired to write them. It’s like asking a storyteller to cut his performance down to a single sentence. It ain’t gonna happen

I’m not the biggest fan of them myself but I’ve always liked this one by Irish poet Francis Harvey
The wind and the rain.
The wind and the rain again
and again. Ireland.
