The year is gone, but the day remains,
June 16, a day for writing. A good day
too, for all of the O’Connors and amateur
writers of poetry. A Thursday.
Light flickered through Flannery’s fiction
and town’s light is now shared - Thursdalusia -
every third Thursday at 5:00 -
open mic without the mic.
Bring your creative game.
Five minutes on the Nail House deck.
All the O’Connors cheer in spirit,
and the Coors, and 24 guys named Bud.
The sun is up, the earth is warming.
Three hour drive to the book fair.
Pitch your tent on high ground -
