If I dance a lively dance,
I will thank the gentle Chance.
If I don’t bump into folk,
I will give my thanks to Hope.
If I don’t make specious moves,
I will thank the Lord of Grooves.
If I keep my head upright,
I will nod to great Insight.
If I keep up with the swing,
I will thank dear Melpomene.
If I don’t start moves too late,
I will thank the lady Fate.
If my dance is right on time,
I will thank a lucky Dime.
But if her day is made by me,
I’ll take that credit merrily.
I enjoyed the sense of fun Ian. Welcome to TB.

I enjoyed the rhyme, Ian. Thanks for posting.

Thank you, Phil! I look forward to being here.
Thank you, Jackie.
Welcome Ian. The last word falls out with the foregoing structure - how about Charity or something
Hmm? I’m a little lost on your suggestion. . . . If you’re referring to the structure of the word, both “merrily” and “charity” have a stressed, unstressed, stressed meter in three syllables. If you mean as a rhyme, they both rhyme with “me.” Could you please elaborate?
